Eye stick

I admire designs that have a purpose in life. Especially ones that can be life altering such as this one. This is by a Korean designer (Wonjun Songg). The stick looks like the typical white and red one but it can recognize things like a step, traffic light, subway station, etc.. Upon recognizing such a thing, the stick sends a message to the person through vibrations that can be identified by the blind person holding it.. My only concern would be, does the person holding the stick have to practice learning what each vibration means? So would that mean that he/she have to be guided the first couple of times to learn them? Or can the whole process be achieved solely?

iBasket

For those of you that hate doing your laundry, here is your dream come true. The iBasket was designed by a chinese industrial design student (Guopeng Liang) for the Electrolux Design Lab competition. basically, when the things in this basket weigh a certain amount, the basket turns into a washing machine and washes what’s in it. The machine can be scheduled and/or controlled using your mobile or computer. It even sends you a text message as soon as your laundry is done! Genius, as long as you don’t mix up your colors ;p

Seymoupowell brings design to a table – from a baby’s point of view. The leading British design firm won numerous awards for this sleek chair. the design is minimal preventing clutter (the table also acts as a restraint instead of seat belts ) and looks fabulous! I like the round edges that prevents the accumulation of dirt, I can imagine how babies can get messy sometimes..
